Dorothee Mields

The music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries as well as contemporary compositions are at the core of Dorothee Mields’ musical repertoire. This repertoire reaches from works by Claudio Monteverdi, Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart through to compositions by Pierre Boulez, Gérard Grisey and Beat Furrer. Mields regularly works together with the Collegium Vocale Gent, the Bachcollegium Japan, the Nederlandse Bachvereiniging and the Orfeo Barockorchester. She has performed under conductors such as Ivor Bolton, Philippe Herreweghe, Gustav Leonhardt, Kenneth Montgomery and Jos van Veldhoven. Her artistic achievement is documented on over 40 records, a number of which have been awarded prestigious prizes. The CD „In Darkness let me Dwell,“ recorded by Mields together with Hille Perl’s viola da gamba ensemble in 2008, was awarded the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik.
