Münchner Frauenchor
The Münchner Frauenchor under conductor Katrin Wende-Ehmer has enriched the Bavarian choir scene with original women’s choir music since 1989. This is a form of music that had been largely unknown here until then. The choir is famous for its warm, full sound, the varied and lively design of its concerts and the performance of contemporary original compositions. The choir puts a strong emphasis on vocal training.
Next to giving state concerts and federal concerts, the Münchner Frauenchor, a member of the Bavarian Singer Association and the IFCM, regularly takes part in national and international competitions. Milestones in its successes have been:
• 2nd place at the International Choir Competition in Marienhöhe, Darmstadt (1995)
• 1st place at the Bavarian Choir Competition (1997)
• 2nd prize at the International Choir Competition in Llangollen, Wales (2000)
• 1st place at the Bavarian Choir Competition (2001 and 2005)
• 2nd prize at the German Choir Competition (2002 and 2006)
