Neuer Knabenchor Hamburg
The greatly successful concept underlying by the Neue Knabenchor Hamburg’s philosophy is the connection of highest musical ambition with an intensively cultivated social atmosphere of togetherness. The choir, which was founded in 1991, offers more than 100 young singers a broad and intensive singing education from their time at kindergarten to their becoming of age. Ulrich Kaiser, who has been conducting the choir since 2003, furthers the boys’ collective experiencing of music and their enthusiasm for singing and thereby enhances their exceptional musical talent. The choir has performed at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival a number of times and, in 2007, sang at the Remembrance Day ceremonies in the German parliament. The Neue Knabenchor Hamburg not only regularly performs its broad repertoire of sacred and worldly a cappella music from all periods at the main churches of its hometown, but also gives guest performances around the world. On their numerous concert tours, the choir has performed throughout Germany as well as in the USA, Israel, Denmark, Hungary, Italy and the Czech Republic.
