The Quartetto di Cremona was formed in Cremona in 2000, while studying at the Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona with Salvatore Accardo, Rocco Filippini, and Bruno Giuranna. The ensemble, with the current members since 2002, continued their studies with Piero Farulli of the Quartetto Italiano and with Hatto Beyerle of the Alban Berg Quartet.Quartetto di Cremona has performed at major international festivals and venues in Europe, South America, Australia and the United States. Since 2011, the Quartetto di Cremona has been Artist-in-Residence at the Società del Quartetto in Milan. The quartet members are also Artists in Residence at the Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome.Radio and television stations broadcast the Quartetto di Cremona concerts in repertoire ranging from the early works of Haydn to contemporary music. An important part of the Quartetto di Cremona activity is teaching master classes throughout Europe. Effective Fall 2011, the members of the quartet were named chair of the string quartet program at the Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona. The Quartetto di Cremona was chosen by „The Friends of Stradivari“ society to internationally promote and develop the knowledge of Cremona art of making stringed instruments. Paolo Andreoli plays a violin made by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini in 1757, arranged through the society from the Collection of Sau-Wing Lam.
