Klaus Singer

Born in 1964, Klaus Singer studied church music with Martin Behrmann, Hanns-Martin Lehning and Renate Zimmermann in Berlin before training as a solo organist with Ewald Kooiman in Amsterdam.Singer has been making music with the Windsbacher Knabenchor and Karl-Friedrich Beringer for several years now and has accompanied the choir on tours to Israel, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.From 1997 to 2003, he was principal of a singing school in Cologne-Weiden, where his performances of numerous choral works such as Johann Sebastian Bach’s St. John’s Passion, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem, Joseph Haydn’s Theresa Mass and George Frideric Handel’s Messiah were received to great acclaim. Since the beginning of 2004, Klaus Singer has been cantor and organist at the church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Hamburg-Bergedorf.
