Reinaldo Dopp

Reinaldo Dopp
Reinaldo Dopp masters a repertoire that spans several centuries: the tenor complements his focus on oratorio, opera, and Lied repertoires of the seventeenth, eighteenth, and early nineteenth centuries with contemporary music. Dopp followed his A diploma in church music at Halle with singing studies in the same city. Complementing his studies with master classes with Guy Bovet (organ) and Ruth Ziesak (voice) he joined forces in close, formative projects with early music specialists such as Ludger Rémy. Acclaimed by critics as a sensitive performer of Bach’s works in particular, Dopp has appeared at the Bachfest Leipzig as well as the Händel- Festspiele in Halle, and has participated in numerous radio and CD recordings. As a ‘tenore leggiero’, he sang the roles of Tetzel in Dietrich Lohff’s ‘Luther’ between 2005 and 2007, of Bacchus and Spring in Johann Christoph Schmidt’s ballet opera ‘Les Quatre Saisons’ in 2006, and the eponymous title role in Johann Heinrich Rolle’s ‘Lazarus’. In addition to Johann Sebastian Bach’s works, Dopp cherishes in particular the Lied repertoire of circa 1800. He regularly puts together exciting and unusual programmes which underline the impact of the human voice, both in the present and the past. This CD is the tenor’s debut album as a soloist. He devised this programme of works from Johann Friedrich Reichardt’s oeuvre in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the composer’s death.
