Karl-Friedrich Beringer

“Pure sound culture” was the headline in “Die Woche” from Hamburg after the “Windsbachers” gave a concert, and “simply outstanding” was the Fono Forum's opinion on the latest CD recording of this choir that has been conducted by Karl-Friedrich Beringer since 1978.
The focus of Beringer's musical work with the “Windsbachers” is the complete a cappella repertoire for choirs, from the Renaissance to the present. In addition to this, he continually works with internationally renowned orchestras, for example with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester (Radio Orchestra Munich), the Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin (German Symphony Orchestra Berlin), the Deutsche Kammer-Virtuosen Berlin (German Chamber Virtuosos) or the Münchener Kammerorchester (Chamber Orchestra Munich).
As a conductor of choirs and orchestras Beringer regularly is found to be a guest at international music festivals. He conducted several performances of his Windsbachers at the Bach Festival in Schaffhausen, at the International Bach Festival in Leipzig, at the Brandenburg Summer Concerts and the Rheingau Music Festival. He gained special appreciation for his performances of the mass in b-minor by Johann Sebastian Bach, the St. Matthew and St. John passions, of Handel's oratorio Messiah in its original language, of Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's oratorio Elijah, Mozart's Requiem, Saint-Saëns' “Oratorio de Noël” as well as Igor Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms.
