Concerto Palatino
Charles Toet (trombone) and Bruce Dickey (cornett) founded Concerto Palatino in 1987. The two musicians have been working together for more than 25 years and have taught an entire generation of trombone and cornett players during this time. The ensemble takes its name from a historical group of trombonists and cornettists which performed over 200 years ago in Bologna. Following the example of these early virtuosos, the present Concerto Palatino hopes to re-establish an important role for its instruments in today’s concert halls. Concerto Palatino often performs together with other leading ensembles of the Early Music movement such as Cantus Cölln, the Collegium Vocale Gent, or the Bach Collegium Japan.
