Stefan Adam
The baritone Stefan Adam took up the study of church music, before in 1990 he was accepted at the Hochschule für Musik Köln to study for a degree in singing. At first, the focus of his repertoire was mainly on the genres Lied, concert and oratorio. He made his first appearances on stage at the Opernschule Köln. He enriched his educational horizon at master classes with chamber singer Theo Adam and Prof. Dr. Franz Müller-Heuser as well as in further studies of the Lied genre with Prof. Jürgen Glauß. During the time of his studies, Adam was given his first permanent job at the Theater Hagen at which he sung between 1994 and 2001. At the beginning of the 2004/2005 season, he decided to accept the offer of a position at the Staatstheater Kassel. Adam has worked with numerous renowned conductors such as Hellmuth Rilling, Ernest Martinez-Izquierdo and David de Villier. Furthermore, his performing career has brought him together with famous orchestras such as the Staatsorchester Kassel, the Bach-Collegium Stuttgart, the Collegium Cartusianum Köln, Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg and the Philharmonie Essen.
