Inga-Britt Andersson

With her immensely flexible soprano voice, the German- Swedish soprano Inga-Britt Andersson has sung many major soprano roles, ranging from dramatic coloratura to spinto, predominantly in Germany. She has appeared as Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) and First Lady (Magic Flute) at the Aalto Theater, Essen, and as Gretel (Hänsel and Gretel) at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Düsseldorf. She took over the role of Liù (Turandot) at the Hof Theater, and will also perform Sieglinde there in The Ring in One Evening. She first came to attention as a Wagner singer with her debut as Eva (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) in Saffron Walden in September 2014. Inga-Britt Andersson was an ensemble member of the Plauen-Zwickau Theater from 2002, and in 2009 moved on to the Staatstheater Mainz, where she remained for two seasons. From 2011 to 2014 she was a member of the ensemble of the Oldenburg Theater. She is a keen singer of modern music, and has been involved in numerous world premieres.
