Timo Warnecke
Timo Warnecke, born in Einbeck in 1976, currently lives in Berlin. An active drummer in the realms of jazz and improvised music, he also works as a drum teacher and workshop lecturer. He was a member of the Youth Jazz Orchestra of the State of Lower Saxony and studied cultural science and aesthetics in Hildesheim, popular music and jazz in Hamburg and jazz drumming in Hanover. As a member of the Ensemble schultzing, he won the first prize at the 2006 Concurso Internacional de Jazz in Granada and the 2008 Jazz Award of Lower Saxony. Collaborations with the Goethe-Institut took him to festivals throughout Latin America and Europe. Thanks to his stylistic versatility, he has been a sideman on several CD projects. Together with Jörn Marcussen-Wulff, Timo Warnecke is a director of theHanover-based Fette Hupe big band.
