Jörn Marcussen-Wulff
Jörn Marcussen-Wulff is an independent composer, arranger, trombonist and conductor from Hanover. He is a lecturer for big band conducting, composing and arranging at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover. A sought-after composer and arranger, he frequently works with such ensembles as the NDR-Bigband, the HR-Bigband, the Metropole Orchestra as well as a cappella ensembles and other groups. Along with Timo Warnecke, he is a director of the Fette Hupe Hannover big band and has co-founded the European Movement Jazz Orchestra. He was a finalist in the 2010 Jazzpositions composing competition organised by the Hessischer Rundfunk, and was invited to join Richard Bona and Vince Mendoza at the 2013 Metropole Orkest Arrangers Workshop in Hilversum. In 2011 and 2013, he was awarded the Composing Fellowship of the State of Lower Saxony and also is a laureate of the Jazz Advancement Award of the 2013 Kulturforum Schleswig-Holstein.
