Landesjugendchor Sachsen
The Landesjugendchor Sachsen (Saxony State Youth Choir) brings together young, music-loving singers aged 16 to 30 from every part of Saxony under the auspices of the Saxony Choral Association.
A broad dynamic range and musical versatility are the trademarks of this group of chosen singers as well as a unique, unmistakable sound. The choir meets for several rehearsal periods each year in order to prepare and perform selected a cappella programs to a professional standard. One period a year is devoted to choral symphonic works, these projects are realized with the collaboration of partners from all over Saxony. In addition to its artistic aspirations, the ensemble, founded by Marcus Friedrich in 2008, also pursues a pedagogical mission. The Landesjugendchor Sachsen regards itself as an ambassador of choral singing for all and pursues its aim in concerts and at festivals.
