Landesjugendchor Thüringen
Enabling fresh encounterswith well-known choralmusic and discoveringlargely unfamiliar works –these are the central idealsof the LandesjugendchorThüringen, which was refoundedin 2013. The youngsingers come togetherregularly at various placeswithin Thuringia in order totackle demanding compositionsduring their rehearsalsets of several days each.The singers’ musical talentsare fostered by experiencedvocal coaches. The ensemblefocusses its attention onthe a cappella repertoire – sacred and secular – ranging fromworks of the sixteenth century to contemporary compositions.The choir first appeared at the Deutscher Chorwettbewerbin Weimar in 2014, before participating in the InternationaleHändelfestspiele in Halle, the Altenburger Musikfestival andthe Heinrich Schütz Musikfest. The choir works with theStaatskapelleHalle and the Johann Rosenmüller Ensemble.Their second CD production is dedicatedto the choral-symphonicoeuvre of Wilhelm Berger. The choir is an institutionof the Thüringer Landesmusikakademie Sondershausen e.V.
