Orchester der Musikalischen Komödie Leipzig
‘It is not only a privilege, but a very great joy to be able to perform with them!’ (Robert Stolz)
The Orchestra of the Musikalische Komödie can look back on a history that spans more than a century. The ensemble is Leipzig’s second oldest orchestra, second only to the Gewandhausorchester. It rapidly became an internationally renowned ensemble specialising in the stylistically appropriate performance of operettas of all kinds, musicals, and Spielopern. Regular guest performances in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland have seen the ensemble perform at the Philharmonie in Cologne and Essen, the open air festival at the Gendarmenmarkt Berlin, the Konzerthaus Dortmund, the Graf- Zeppelin- Haus in Friedrichshafen, the Konzerttheater Coesfeld, and in Aschaffenburg.
