Claire Huangci
Claire Huangci began her international career atthe age of nine with grants, concert performancesand prizes, becoming the youngest participant toreceive second prize at the International ARD MusicCompetition in 2011.
Chopin’s music gave Claire Huangci her artisticbreakthrough in 2009 when she won first prizeat the International Chopin Competition in Darmstadt,as well as in 2010 at the Chopin Competitionin Miami. She has since proved her great versatilitywith an unusually broad repertoire. Claire Huangcihas performed in solo recitals and as a partner withinternational orchestras such as the MozarteumorchesterSalzburg, Stuttgart Radio SymphonyOrchestra, Münchner Kammerorchester and theChina Philharmonic Orchestra at international concertvenues that include the Carnegie Hall, TonhalleZurich and Konzerthaus Berlin. She has also madeguest appearances at major festivals.
Following her debut CD of solo works byTchaikovsky and Prokofiev, she released her secondsolo album on the Berlin Classics label in 2015. Forthis recording the pianist selected 39 of DomenicoScarlatti’s 555 sonatas. In doing so, she illustratesScarlatti’s transition through music history. Therecording was awarded the German Record Critics’Award and was selected as “Editor’s Choice”by Gramophone magazine. In spring 2017, shereleased a celebrated recording of Chopin’sNocturnes.
