Felix Koch
Felix Koch (conductor) studied cello and music education in Mannheim, Karlsruhe and Frankfurt am Main. He has won prizes at numerous competitions and has received scholarships from renowned cultural institutions. Moreover, as a soloist, chamber musician and conductor, he has appeared not only in radio broadcasts and CD productions but also at major European festivals and music centers such as the Schleswig-Holstein-Musik Festival, Resonanzen Wien, Luzern-Festival, Bach-Fest Leipzig, Alte Oper Frankfurt and the Berliner Philharmonie. He has also performed in Yaroslavl (Russia), Brussels, Turin, Milan and New York.
Alongside his artistic activities, he has been devoting himself increasingly to the field of music mediation since 2000. In 2004, he took on a lectureship in music mediation/concert pedagogy at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main, and from 2008-2011 he was project leader of the children‘s singing project “Primacanta - Jedem Kind seine Stimme.“ In 2011, Felix Koch was appointed professor for early music and concert pedagogy/music mediation at the Mainz School of Music. In 2012, he also took over the direction of the Mainz University Choir and the Mainz University Orchestra, and was appointed director of the Collegium Musicum at the Johannes Gutenberg University.
