Jutta Böhnert
The soprano Jutta Böhnert was born in Baden-Baden. She trained as a singer at the Music Academy in Stuttgart and was the winner of Luxembourg’s International Sylvia Geszty Competition 1996.
Jutta Böhnert is very much in demand on the concert circuit and has performed with the Dresdner Kreuzchor and Berlin Symphony Orchestra at the Konzerthaus in Berlin. Among the other highlights of her career to date was a performance of Handel’s Messiah with the Gewandhaus Orchestra at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig and a rendering of J. S. Bach’s Passion Cantatas in the rebuilt Frauenkirche in Dresden with the Windsbacher Knabenchor and Munich Chamber Orchestra. Jutta Böhnert began her career in the Stuttgart State Opera’s Young Opera Company and from there moved on to Kiel, Regensburg, the State Opera of Lower Saxony in Hanover and the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf.
Engaged at the Nuremberg Opera House from 1998 to 2002, she played the parts of Gretel, Susanna, Gilda and Olympia. After spending the 2003/2004 season at the State Theatre of Hesse in Kassel, she made her first appearance in Bayreuth in the summer of 2004 as a Flower Girl in the new production of “Parsifal” conducted by Pierre Boulez.
