Singknaben der St. Ursenkathedrale Solothurn
The Singknaben Choir of the St Ursus Cathedral in Solothurn, whose origins date back to the establishment of the St Ursus collegiate church in 742, is the oldest boys choir in Switzerland and is one of the oldest boys choirs worldwide. The choir sings in the St Ursus Cathedral and enthusiastically devotes itself to the fostering of sacred music. At the same time, this traditional boys choir has been promoted at numerous festivals as one of Switzerlands most modern (and coolest) boys choirs with its brilliant choreographies.
Since 2007, the choir has been under the direction of Andreas Reize. The repertoire ranges from Gregorian Chants to motets, passions, cantatas, masses and sacred songs to traditional music from Switzerland and many other countries. In addition, musical works from the gospel, jazz, and even pop genres are not forgotten either. Over the past years, concert tours have taken the choir to Poland, France, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Sweden, Holland, Austria and Slovenia.
