Chorknaben Uetersen
The Uetersen Boys Choir was founded in 1965 by the church musician Ilse Rieth. The choir has been conducted by Hans- Joachim Lustig for almost 20 years. Harald Stockfleth is responsible for the voice training. The preparation choir is in the hands of Susanne van den Bos. The choir is made up of approximately 75 boys. They are between nine and 24 years old and meet two to three days a week to rehearse old and new choral works. The musical focus is on sacred choir literature. The repertoire includes sacred and secular works from the Renaissance to the present, from Gregorian chants to rock music.
In addition to the concert choir‘s performances, the approximately 30 male voices work on individual programs. The focus here is on contemporary works, with commissioned compositions and collaboration with composers playing an important role. The male voices of the Uetersen Boys Choir participated successfully in national and international competitions. They have released several CDs under the name Sonux Ensemble, including Light & Love (CD ROP6075).
