Bremer Lautten Chor
In the recording Michaelisvesper with the Knabenchor Hannover (ROP7007), the musicians Johannes Gontarski, David Leeurwaden and Lee Santana appear together as the Bremer Lautten Chor. North-American Lee Santana mainly played jazz and rock music in his youth. Only later did he discover his passion for Early Music. He completed his studies of historically informed performance practice, music theory and lute with Pat O’Brien and Steve Stubbs at Boston, Massachusetts with distinction. He has been working throughout Europe as a freelance lute player and composer since 1984 and also appears as a duo with gamba player Hille Perl as well as with her ensemble Los Otros. The first recording of Santana’s compositions was released in 2002. One year later, the first production together with the Trio Los Otros followed; a recording which was awarded the Echo Klassik. Since 2006, Santana has been teaching courses in lute and continuo playing at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen.
