Philipp Goldmann
Philipp Goldmann, baritone and choir director, was a memberof St Thomas’s Boys Choir Leipzig before studying singing andchoral conducting with Roland Schubert, Berthold Schmid, RolandBörger and Vivianne Sydnes at Leipzig and Oslo. He wasthe recipient of a so-called Deutschland-Stipendium as wellas a scholarship of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkesand other awards.As a baritone, Philipp Goldmann is in high demand, particularlyfor performances of the oratorio repertoire. He has gainedsignificant inspiration from masterclasses with KammersängerPeter Schreier and Gerd Türk. Between 2002 and 2018,he performed as bass with the male-voice quartet EnsembleThios Omilos. Moreover, he maintains regular freelance engagementswith renowned ensembles such as the MDR Rundfunkchor,the Gaechinger Cantorey, the Amsterdam BaroqueChoir, the Lautten Compagney, the Bachconsort Leipzig andarsys bourgogne.Goldmann has been the musical director of the DenkmalchorLeipzig since 2015. He is also involved in initiating and organisingother choir and ensemble projects. He is a tutor for singingand choral conducting at the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg and at the Evangelische Hochschule für KirchenmusikHalle.
