Marie Hänsel

Marie Hänsel studied from 2010 to 2017 at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden, making her professional operatic debut in 2012 as Barbarina. Since then, the soprano has sung roles including, among others, Gretel and Titania, has appeared in Freiberg as Barbarina, at the Landesbühnen Sachsen as Clorinda and Papagena, at the Staatsoperette Dresden as Cupid in Orpheus in the Underworld and as Käthchen in The Black Rider. She has performed concerts with Ekkehard Klemm, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Milko Kersten and Matthias Liebich. She received important artistic impulse for her work from Rainer Fritzsch, Christiane Kühn, Charlotte Lehmann, Christian Kluttig and Barbara Locher. She started making guest appearances at the Chemnitz Opera in 2016 and has been a permanent member since 2019, appearing as Gretel, Eliza, Adele, Papagena, Pamina and Marzelline, as well as other roles. She won the Beethoven Chamber Music Award at the 2020 DEBUT Classical Singing Competition in Weikersheim.
