Maraike Schröter
The soprano Maraike Schröter studied singing at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin with Júlia Várady, Brenda Mitchell and Christine Schäfer. From 2011 to 2013 she was a member of the International Opera Studio of the Staatsoper Berlin. As part of the Bayreuth Festspiele 2011, she sang the role of Sieglinde in the children’s opera Der Ring des Nibelungen. The soprano has been a member of the Chemnitz Opera since the 2013/14 season and has appeared as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Elisabetta in Don Carlos, Liù in Turandot, Desdemona in Otello, Eva in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Elsa in Lohengrin, Infanta in Der Zwerg as well as Feldmarschallin in Der Rosenkavalier and as Amelia in Ein Maskenball. Guest performances have recently taken her back to the Staatsoper Berlin, the Bregenzer Festspiele, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, and she has sung the roles of Chrysothemis in Elektra at the Staatstheater Cottbus and Donna Anna at the Komische Oper Berlin.
