Concertino Lüneburg
Concertino Lüneburg, an ensemble founded in 1993 by the gamba player and music teacher, Reinhard Tüting, specializes in historical performances of chamber music of the Baroque and Early Classical periods. The members of the ensemble all play on reconstructions of historical wind, stringed and keyboard instruments in order to achieve as authentic a sound as possible. In addition to their regular chamber music concerts both in and around Lüneburg – the ensemble is a regular guest in the series Musik in alten Heidekirchen – Concertino Lüneburg is also involved in a number of church music events and has collaborated extensively with the Hochschule für Evangelische Kirchenmusik in Bayreuth for a number of years. One highlight of its career to date was a performance of the Vespers of the Blessed Virgin by Claudio Monteverdi in Bayreuth and Frankfurt am Main in the year 2000, for which Concertino Lüneburg provided the strings and wind instruments. Authentic Baroque music for Concertino Lüneburg means a transparent, vibrato-free sound that shuns all ostentation.
