Holger Eichhorn

Holger Eichhorn is thought to be one of the leading and trendsetting personalities by friends of Early Music. He has become internationally renowned with his uncompromising realisation of his concepts of sound, word, affection, and dramaturgy. He started his musical career playing the violin and brass instruments and gained ensemble experience as a Jazz musician. He studied composition and later also studied musicology. During this time, Eichhorn first performed as a solo-cornett player.
As founder of the Musicalische Compagney, Holger Eichhorn saw himself as a mediator between academically gained knowledge and practical, experimental curiosity. His interest as musical director and academic is mainly directed at the music in the context of the composers from Giovanni Gabrieli to Heinrich Schütz to Johann Rosenmüller.
